Talk: "Managing the Risks of AI Research: Recommendations for Responsible Publication and and Outstanding Challenges"

Abstract:
Many research communities have established norms and procedures for publishing high-risk research; the AI community has had less time to develop similar practices. This talk addresses an urgent and timely outstanding question for the field: Given its potential for misuse, how can AI research be disseminated responsibly? Through this talk we will explore questions around why and how we can build our capacity as a field to anticipate downstream consequences and mitigate potential risks.
