Scala, Scalaz, & Shapeless with Mark Kegel

Scala offers an interesting take on many functional programming concepts and principles. After a short primer on the syntax and concepts of the language we'll explore how various FP concepts are represented in Scala. We'll also look into the trade-offs and concessions that Scala has made to the dominant OO programing paradigm that the JVM embodies. Time permitting we'll explore the Scalaz and Shapeless libraries.

For those that would like to follow along make sure you have Scala v2.11.8 and SBT 0.13.12 installed.
