Dallas Intelectual Discussions

Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20th at 7:30. which is the third Wednesday of this month. We will open the floor to topics that attendees want to discuss, as we did in our last meeting. But first I would like to start with a discussion one of the most important questions in all of philosophy and science: what is human consciousness, and its relationship to the human soul. Studying brain science and consciousness has been one of my major interests for over a decade. I have read all or part of hundreds of scientific papers, and have attended the yearly Science of Consciousness Conference seven times in the last 13 years. This presentation will be a little geeky, but I am pretty good at explaining scientific things to nonscientists, as long as they can explain what they don’t understand. If you are an “intellectual”. as the title of our group implies, you might well find this discussion fascinating and stimulating.
