Frisco StarFest - Frisco Commons Park

Details
Don D, our resident star-gazing authority, will sponsor our group on the second Saturday of the month at Frisco Commons Park.
Click on the Google Map to get more information about the park’s location. You can also use your smart phone map app to get directions to Frisco Commons Park. Both Google Maps and Apple Maps have the park in their database. The volunteer telescope operators will be set up at the “compass rose” between the circle drive and the large pavilion to the north. Parking is to the right as you enter the park.
Frisco StarFest is a monthly public star party organized by the Texas Astronomical Society (TAS). To check on the star party status, go to the Google calendar at texasastro.org. The cancellation notice will be posted no later than 6:00 PM Central Time.
Fall and winter nights can be cold. Consult the forecast and dress for about 10º below that because it can get very cold when you are just standing around on cold pavement. Good shoes, a hat, ear coverings, and layers are your best bet. You can always take off what's not needed.
There are public restrooms at this location.
If you have a telescope you can bring it out, but the volunteers may not have time to answer questions about your telescope, depending on crowd size.
(BTW this is only a stargazing party - no food or drink required. :-))
NOTE: If it is overcast or the weather is severe the event will be canceled. You can also call the TAS Recurring Star Party Hotline at 214-800-6000 on the day of the star party.
