Once you've got a handle on the ravages of Penguins and Pandas Sha will introduce you to some other algorithmic changes that could affect your online visibility – these include Top Heavy, Exact-Match Domain and the most recently announced “Doorway Pages” and “Mobile Friendly” updates.

Sha Menz

Sha is concept and process lead behind Link removal outreach tool, rmoov. She spends her days running penalty recovery campaigns for clients and providing phone and email support for those unlucky enough to be dealing with unnatural linking penalties.

Spending so much time working one-to-one with site owners has given her a glimpse of pretty much every spammy technique and link penalty issue you might imagine. Even though “unbuilding” links is a huge part of her everyday life, Sha never met a “natural” link she didn’t love.

Sha lives and breathes link penalties, link removal and remediation, but takes a fresh approach to the problem. She believes the most successful penalty recovery specialists are those who actively seek out ways to protect brands; preserve reputation; even earn new links and new business, while working to restore a healthy backlink profile.

A former newspaper editor with more than twenty years experience in public radio broadcasting, she made the move to digital marketing and Search optimization fifteen years ago. Sha is scheduled to present at SMX London and Sydney next month. She has previously spoken at SMX West, SMX East, SMX Sydney, ionSearch, Mozcon and the Link Removal Roadshow sessions in Seattle, San Francisco and Philadelphia.
