April's study will be conducted by Bro. Lynne Nevill as he asks the question, "Exploring MBTI Types: Can this Awareness Foster Greater Brotherhood Among Us?"

Synopsis:
One system of understanding human psychology (based on Carl Jung’s work) is called the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory, which looks at whether people preferentially focus on perceiving the here-&-now of the physical world, or instead on the realms of possibilities, and whether they preferentially act based on logic, or instead on feelings. And it discovers whether introversion or extraversion is dominant, for each of those four functions. We’ll see how 16 basic types are generated through MBTI evaluation, with each type having a prioritized “stack” of 8 cognitive functions. Why do certain people find practical motivation so difficult that they accomplish very little in their lives, while certain others accomplish a great deal, only to realize in midlife that perhaps they’ve been on the “wrong track”? And is it wiser to lean into our native strengths, or to work consciously to develop/balance our weaker areas?

Mission Statement:
The Masonic Philosophical Society embraces the concept of learning, not for school, but for life, and believes that all men, who seek it, deserve access to continued education. We further embrace the concept of a community environment where ideas can be shared and debated in an open forum. From the seven liberal arts to the arcane, we seek to gain and share the knowledge that is the legacy of mankind.
