Jazz It Up with Mark Baker!

As part of the Kimo Hussey and Friends Ukulele Event, join the incomparable Mark Baker for a very special workshop!

Are you ready to Jazz it up? In this workshop you will learn how to play Little Grass Shack using a few basic Jazz Chords. We will also focus on the proper strum technique to create a cool Jazz feel. You will also learn how to play a song in 5/4 time. Turn the World Around is a great song made popular by Harry Belefonte. The strum pattern can be a bit tricky but once you HEAR it then the FUN begins. The more people the better it sounds, so I look forward to seeing and meeting you.

Mark Baker, Singer/Songwriter is a native of Texas but now resides in Sun City, Arizona. In January 2015, he was a guest instructor at the La Semana de Uke-Culinary Fiesta in Mexico. In 2011 he started and is director of the Sun City Ukulele club with membership now over 100. He is now in his third of a three year accreditation degree teaching programwith James Hill's Ukulele in the Classroom. For twenty-five years he performed throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico as a solo act. Among Mark’s many career highlights was the honor of performing with Celine Dion during her late 1990’s tour at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington and recently with the New Christy Minstrels.
