Michael Phillips: Zen and the Art of Logging

Details
Logging is not the most fun or glamorous task that programmers are asked to undertake. Sometimes it can feel like a chore, but like many of our chores in the real world, when we find ourselves in tough situations we are grateful to our past selves that we took the time to do them. If you've ever found yourself flying blind from not having good logs during a production outage, you know what I mean.
In this talk we are going to discuss the process of logging events within a web application. We will look at different strategies for storing logs, different uses for logs, and what makes "good logging" good. By applying the knowledge from this talk to your day to day work your teammates and your future self will thank you.
