Fall Campout at Eisenhower State Park - October 17-19 - Ready for some quality time outdoors with great people, and don’t want a long drive? Sign up now for our fall weekend at Eisenhower State Park, a popular destination nestled in the woods near bluffs above the south edge of Lake Texoma, less than 90 minutes north of Dallas. This outing is for all level of campers/hikers wanting a relaxed weekend in nature. It will also be a great opportunity to test camping and backpacking gear and skills.

Arrive Friday afternoon or early evening and pitch your tent at our shared reserved campsites. Saturday join Sierra Club leaders and hike your option of all or part of a combination of scenic wooded trails, ranging from a few miles to an eight-mile loop. The trails are an easy, gradual up and down so it’s a great opportunity to carry either a daypack or a backpack to get the feel of carrying a load while hiking. You’ll have free time to explore more of the park, check out nearby Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge on your own, hang out at the beach or just relax in camp. Saturday evening we’ll discuss everyone’s favorite topic – food! We’ll share food ideas to make camping easy, tasty and fun. Reservations are required and our group size is limited by our block of reserved campsites. Sorry, no pets.
