Fairfield Hills and Ferris Acres Creamery 🍨

Details
The leaves are changing, the air is getting cooler, and it’s starting to feel like fall! 🍂 During this event, we’ll take a couple of loops around Fairfield Hills before heading down the road to Ferris Acres Creamery to enjoy some homemade ice cream. Who’s ready to soak in the fall foliage and treat themselves to something sweet? 🍁
Here’s a brief history of Fairfield Hills:
Fairfield Hills, right here in Newtown, has a pretty unique history. It first opened back in 1931 as a state psychiatric hospital and at one point had thousands of patients across a huge campus of brick buildings (some connected by tunnels). The hospital closed in 1995, and now the town owns the property. These days, it’s used for community events, recreation, and walking trails, but you can still feel a little bit of that history when you’re out there.
When you enter in the address on the GPS please put in: Keating Farms Avenue and Ferris Acres Creamery is located at 144 Sugar Street.
There is free parking on the premise and multiple places to park. I will post a meeting spot when the date gets closer.
