comments, criticism and witty remarks?

and the latter is what I'd like to hear for the most part...

In response to the many comments/criticism regarding dances and activities planned by my organizers and friends...

I have been noticing alot of negativity in some remarks, and good comments as well, and would just like to say that I think the organizers of my group, and myself, work very hard at getting people together, for indoor and outdoor fun.  My organizers esp. are the glue that hold this meetup together.  A special thank you, to you all of you who keep us going.

On the whole, even before I had my own group, Meetup was always a nice venue for a single woman as myself, to get out and have a good time, with people who also needed that outlet, whether single or coupled up.

I am writing in particular to the comments being made about the dances.  While DJ's are not my favorite "thing" and I would prefer a live band (maybe because most DJ'S don't even know what good ole fashion rock n' roll is, and hardly EVER mix them in) I think the folks that run these dances (esp. together and supersingles) are doing a great job of getting people together, putting smiles on most of your faces, and giving a sense of "community" to our meetup group.

Fred, who runs Together and Paul of Super Singles have always been very accommodating and welcoming to us.  Sure, it's about the money too (everyone has to make a living), but guess what?  Everyone has a calling in life, and what a calling it is, if you can make people smile, and make some kind of living at it ;)

If you're in business as I am, networking is a big part of my life and I can't tell you how many wonderful clients I have obtained, as a result of my Meetup interactions ;)  Networking is also a part of the "meetup" scene, so give out your card, tell us about your profession.

Now, the music...

It would seem there is a great discord, about what should and shouldn't be played for music and people get very upset, when they don't hear their requests or the DJ doesn't play the music that they like.

All I can say is that, it's not ALL about the music, it's about friends and new acquaintances getting together in a fun atmosphere.  Both Fred of Together, and Paul of SuperSingles, are willing to listen to what you have to say, but I think your gripes should be aired in a more friendly fashion.  Feel free to give them your views and requests, and then if your not happy or not listened to, there are so many other choices of entertainment, on our calendar, that you can take advantage of.  But...remember, it's YOU that makes the dance, and dance mood, a success, and sometimes it's best, as I sometimes say..."if you can't beat'm, join'm".  And have fun anyway.

Music is a BIG part of my life...nothing soothes me more, then getting out on that dance floor with my friends, and rockin' out.  I hope you will continue to dance with me...whether it be a Together Dance, Super Singles Dance or good Old Fashion Rock N' Roll BAND!!!

On a great note...I think there's under 2 months left of, that's something to hold onto.  More outdoor activities that I'll

On a bad answer to all your question "will you be having the superbowl at Chunkys theater", the answer is no...maybe next year Boston fans.  The game watchers yesterday were more exciting than the game...ugh.

On a housekeeping need to reply "NO" to an event, unless you have to because you're changing your status, or you'd REALLY like to make a comment with your "NO" reply.  I receive an email for ALL replys, and less is better in my mailbox.

Thanks for listening and hope to "meetup" soon,

ps...all comments welcome
