The Thursday Social
Details
‘The Thursday Social’ is a monthly Scottish dance session aimed at adults of all ages who love to dance or would like to learn. Similar to our popular Tuesday Social - but with no upper age limit. No need to bring a partner, everyone dances with everyone in this friendly, fun and sociable way to dance.
The session features popular dances, accessible to beginners but enjoyable for more experienced dancers too, consolidating steps and movements in a social dance setting. We have a great teacher on hand to introduce the dances and help the less confident, plus live music from one of our excellent class musicians.
When and where
This new group will meet once a month from 7.00-9.30pm in the Upper Hall at St Columba’s Church on Pont Street in Knightsbridge. Our first session is Thursday 12 November - check our website for more information [https://www.rscdslondon.org.uk/thursday-social ](https://www.rscdslondon.org.uk/thursday-social)
How it works
This session combines great teaching with live music and lots of dancing, plus a social break with time to relax and chat. The evening begins from 7pm with time to chat, eat your dinner (if you've brought it with you) or enjoy some light refreshments. The dancing starts at 7.30pm. No previous experience necessary but plenty of opportunity to enjoy dancing and (if you wish) to learn about other dancing opportunities (RSCDS London runs a wide range of classes aimed at Children, beginners, improvers, advanced and very advanced dancers).
Our Tuesday Social group members often join forces to attend Scottish dance events in London and further afield; we hope the Thursday Social will be similarly successful in building dancing contacts.
Whether you are new to London, a long time resident or just visiting - a warm welcome awaits.
