Emerging Waves with Katy Kuhlman

A 5Rhythms® lightly guided class offered by Katy Kuhlman mentored by Ray Diaz and Stuart Phillips.

Emerging Waves is a space held by a 5Rhythms® Teacher in Training. In this 5Rhythms class, you are invited to move through the 5Rhythms with simple guidance, giving space for your personal expression. Music becomes the teacher alongside the Teacher in Training, supporting your movement practice through the Waves map of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness.

Rooted in the teachings of Gabrielle Roth, 5Rhythms® is practiced by tens of thousands of people around the world. It is a movement meditation, a creative path, and a philosophy grounded in the belief that when we move, we heal. Movement becomes both medicine and metaphor—opening space for personal insight, and embodied presence.

This practice welcomes every body, every culture, every age, and every level of experience. Wherever the 5Rhythms are danced, a community forms—one that moves together , sweats together , grows together, and supports one another’s freedom and authenticity. Here we meet ourselves and each other with curiosity, kindness, and the courage to be real.

Here are our agreements, thank you for respecting the practice, yours and others' experience:

• Doors open at 6:45, plan ahead to arrive on time.
• Wear comfortable clothes to allow movement, we typically move in bare feet. If you require shoes, no street shoes in the dance space (bring a pair to change into, thank you).
• Sober space, no intoxicants.
• Talking and other sound take us out of our embodiment, no outside instruments or conversation. If you are in need of support, find a volunteer or see Katy.
• Phones should be off or silenced, no photography in the dance space.
