About us
Organising dance photography workshops in and around London since 2016.
Each event is themed and allows photographers to work closely with dancers, perfecting their own eye within the field of dance photography. DPL aims to give you an enjoyable and inspiring experience where you can hone your own skills whilst photographing experienced professional artists, as well as sharing your knowledge with other participants. All levels are welcome, whether it is a new hobby or you are a seasoned photographer!

DEGAS–Focus Point(e): Impressionist Photography
South Wimbledon community Centre, 78 Victory Road,, South Wimbledon SW19 1HN, London, GBDEGAS 📸🩰
Focus Point(e): Impressionist PhotographyDPL is happy to bring back a favoured DPL workshop–DEGAS! This time, however, we will focus less on the theatrics to create the famous Degas imagery and more on camera techniques to capture an Impressionist image.
Our last two workshops have explored capturing dance in movement. This time it is YOU the photographer who will be doing the moving, playing with panning and zooming on a (mostly) still body.
Take a look at some of the images we managed to capture at previous Degas workshops. What might you do differently to create the effect of Impressionism? Using slightly different techniques we will explore:
◼️ Intentional Camera Movement
◼️ Various Focus Techniques
◼️ Capturing TextureThis whorkshop will be led by Michelle Buckley (professional dancer & co-founder/director of DPL) and Nick Gregan (professional photographer & author). Together, we will guide you through this specially curated workshop, using the specific techniques to create Impressionist Photography.
