Watch Out for Hidden Dangers as We Open Up

Details
Now that we’re beginning to see some of the long-term effects of COVID-19 on our economy, it’s becoming clear that not all businesses have been impacted equally. Those that have been able to adapt to the new environment are facing rapidly changing challenges, none more dramatically than IT. Tens of thousands of businesses were forced into a work-from-home environment overnight, and it has redefined the roll of IT for even the most prepared.
As businesses start opening up, one of the most difficult parts is risk management. We are heading into another unknown & risk comes in many forms: employees, sales development, social distancing, new costing & product structure, in-person liability & many more.
Our focus topic this month is risk management & in particular, cyber and IT threats. Last week when speaking with Robert Gillette, an IT executive at EndSight, I was dismayed at how many businesses, of all sizes, he had directed towards bankruptcy attorneys. Not because of lack of sales or from COVID-19, although this is an element with people working remotely, it was because of cyber and IT issues.
As we now start to open up or continue to follow a work-from-home policy, IT is even more important.
How do we know if our IT support professionals have everything in order?
What is the impact when everything fails?
How can we realistically and comfortably protect our business?
How do we prevent IT mistakes from seemingly innocent threats?
Join Robert & I, as we talk about how small and mid-size businesses should be preparing for this increasingly vulnerable digital world. One thing is clear, how we do business has forever changed.
