What we’re about
At Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotary, we help build communities near and far. Individuals seeking to make a difference and believe service above all else is the hallmark of our group.
We participate in hands-on volunteering as well as fundraising events to support the schools of San Ramon Valley as well as many local organizations. Some of our recent projects include:
Donating time and funds to the Contra Costa County Foodbank
Refurbishing Classrooms and the Quad at Del Amigo High School
Rotary Home Team – Helping the Senior community one “fix-it” project at a time!
Supporting the Hospice of the East Bay. Teaming with Gianni’s Restaurant to raise over $9,000 in one evening!
Donating Dictionaries to 3rd Graders
Bringing a bit of Holiday Cheer to our Vets! – Caroling at the Veteran’s Hospital in Livermore
Donating time and funds to the East Bay Stand Down
Danville-Sycamore Valley Rotary builds community in many countries through our International Service donations and grants. Our club participates in a broad range of humanitarian, intercultural, and educational activities designed to improve the human condition. Humanitarian grants support club projects that provide health care and medical supplies, clean water, food, job training, youth development, and education to millions of people in need, particularly in the developing world.
From 2005 through 2010, Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotary in partnership with Monterrey Mexico Rotary Clubs and Rotary International funded 15 International Matching Grants totaling over $375,000.
In 2010, Danville/Sycamore started working in partnership with a local non-profit, Asante Africa Foundation, to provide water well, upgrade classrooms, add enclosed outhouses, and electricity with solar panels in a small village in Kenya.
