Nerdy Introvert-Friendly NYE Social

Event location TBA, it will be in the Darien, IL area.

A socializing space for all; I aim to create a safe, thoughtful and comfortable socializing experience for individuals with neurodivergence, social anxieties and small or isolating social circles. We welcome all alternative lifestyles, spiritualities and the entire LBGTQAI+ community in this MAGA-free space.

You don't have to fit into any of the descriptions above, simply be a kind, emotionally intelligent / mature and respectful person who accepts, supports and encourages all walks of life (outside of MAGA, Nazis, racists, bigotry - you get it).

These socials are intended to promote emotional growth, healing and self-confidence through encouraging those who may be in an isolating period of their lives to find a compassionate, open and empathetic community.

The space includes;

A quiet room for individuals with sensory issues or have a tendency to be overwhelmed. Inside the room there will be seating, low light with no communication allowed. Feel free to relax with the soft music, low lights and calm with a hot beverage. Alternatively, bring your own headphones, stemming tools or other things which may comfort you; which can be kept in the quiet room. We're a social circle with multiple AuDHD individuals, we get it.

Upstairs Social Area: Our kitchen, dining room and living room spaces are meant for average to higher level socializing; food and non-alcoholic drinks, an outside patio (after winter) and conversation area in the living room with soft mood lighting. Whether it be for casual conversation, quietly observing or discussing deeper or vulnerable topics.

Downstairs Social Area; Located downstairs and away from the more active conversations upstairs, this area is a more quiet area of the home but with some 'arcade ambiance' in the background from the adjacent garage. This space will be reserved for individuals looking for smaller groups or new connections looking to step away from the busier socializing area for more private, quiet or low energy conversation.

Garage Arcade: With a full sized StepManiax arcade cab (DDR), a few 1 Up Arcade cabs (X-Men, Simpsons, Turtles On Time) and. large couch + TV for retro games this area is the more active, casual and fun filled room to meet people with similar gaming or general need hobbies. I am a huge lover of classic arcades, and am in the final stages of adding details and wanting to open my space to others to enjoy.

I will be providing optional colored wristbands for a variety of socializing styles such as;

"Do not approach" (I'm feeling the social out / want to approach others on my tkme).

"Please approach first" (I'm shy and want to talk but can't initiate).

"Open to being approached" (I'll be approaching the approachable and would love to be approached).

I plan to add additional wristbands in the future which have been suggested in other groups, such as; open to dating, relationship lifestyle and sexual identity - again, all optional.

I plan to have specific RSVPs in the future to allow for a large variety of individuals. Should the events be successful, I plan on themed gatherings around sexualities or lifestyles which may prove difficult to find community in; Polyamorous/ ENM specific, Demisexual specific, kink specific, Asexual specific, hobby specific, etc.

These may be a huge success or a huge failure, but there's nothing in this area like this to participate in, and I look forward to meeting those who would like to attend.
