Join us for a meetup with Amir Taaki, one of the OG Bitcoin developers and a long-time pioneer of privacy technology. Amir has been active in free software for over 20 years, worked on Bitcoin from 2010–2015, created BIP 0001, and founded the first UK Bitcoin exchange. He also co-created DarkWallet with Vitalik Buterin and Cody Wilson, implementing the first versions of CoinJoin and stealth addresses.
Beyond Bitcoin, Amir has spent the past decade advancing privacy tech and anonymous cryptography, with work spanning mathematics and applied systems. He helped launch AssangeDAO, which raised $55M to support Julian Assange’s freedom, one of the largest DAO raises in history.
Today, Amir is leading DarkFi — a new layer-1 blockchain for anonymous on-chain applications. DarkFi includes the world’s first fully anonymous DAO, the world’s most private p2p chat, and anonymous trustless cross-chain swaps.
At this meetup, Amir will present DarkFi’s vision, how it works, and what it means for the future of privacy, cryptography, and decentralised communities.
