DARTMOUTH WALKING & HIKING CLUB
The Dartmouth Walking Club is a friendly outdoor walking club. We have a lot of fun and are always keen to welcome newcomers. Our club is the oldest club of its kind in Canada. The club was formed in 1983 and we presently have 133 members. We enjoy walks throughout the year. We walk rain or shine all over Halifax Regional Municipality and occasionally further afield. There's always a choice between a long route (usually 10 km) and one or two shorter routes. If you are looking for something to do that's enjoyable, healthful, and non-competitive, why not join us on one of our walks to see what it's like? Just identify yourself as a new walker when you arrive at the start point.
Please note: Although the number of attendees indicated for any event may appear low, be assured that you can expect to walk with many club members who have not RSVP’d. We rarely have fewer than 20 participants at any of our Sunday walks. Our Wednesday evening walks are less well-attended but even those walks may attract 10 walkers.
Please be advised that photographs and video recordings of walks and associated activities may be taken. These may be posted to Meetup, our club's website ( http://www.dartmouthvolksmarchclub.com ) and/or Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/1490166391288097/ ) . If you do not wish to be photographed or video-recorded, please let the photographer know. Otherwise, it will be assumed that you have no objection to being photographed and/or video-recorded. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
