Summary:
One of the biggest disruptions these days, besides artificial intelligence is blockchain technology and its pioneer cryptocurrency, bitcoin. Many people believe that bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, will help in making most sustainable and transparent economy. But with its fluctuations in price are constantly bringing out the question: “Should I invest?”. We want to help in understanding price fluctuation, predict the future movement and quantify risks of potential investments as well as potential profits. Predicting exact price in next moment is hard and maybe impossible, but using machine learning to predict some change of price with some risks or finding out which time range is appropriate for buying or selling is something that isn’t impossible and it could be useful as input to people who are trading or to investors. Bitcoin Trade Signals is a project which integrates insights from social networks with historical data from blockchain in order to detect profitable moments.

Bio:
Ljubica is Data Science Intern at SmartCat with special focus on fintech solutions in her research work as she is finishing her master studies at the university. Besides data exploration, she enjoys exploring new places, especially with good coffee and chocolate souffles, new mountains and roads for skiing and new places to express herself.

Casumo is building an in-house big data platform from scratch. Whole business is depending on it.
While aiming to deliver consistency and robustness, Casumo's engineers are fighting the worst enemy - the time. Surrounded from both ends, by end of the day on one side and opening office time on the other, computations have very limited time frame to be executed in. Data growth and ever increasing number of business requirements only add to the challenge. We had to do some smart pipelining to answer those requests.
We are reactive.

We move fast and we don't break things.

Bio:
Dusan is building a big data platform while having a time of his life as data engineer in Casumo, an online gaming company. Previously software consultant, body to be leased and IT operations manager. His career started with development of web applications and he developed by working on enterprise projects like digital marketing campaign planners, social CRMs and complex reporting mechanisms used to analyze ad serving information.
Simply put, he loves to code.
