This month we'll be gathering at The Miller Tavern on Bay Street just south of the Scotiabank Arena.
Our guest speaker in the bar for our lightning talk this time is friend of the community, Ryan Ovas, Founder of Polar Labs, who will give a short presentation on "Building an Open Source Data Lake with Apache Iceberg".
As usual, we'll have lots of time for networking and to make authentic connections, build our professional network, and enjoy food and drink. The folks at the Miller have generously added a $7 Guinness Special for our group 🍀Please support our venue hosts by purchasing food and drink 👍
If you've not yet joined the group, the list of our key principles are as follows:
- 🤝 Human First: We prioritize genuine relationships over transactions. While business and partnerships may emerge naturally, our focus is on respectful, people-centered interactions—not sales pitches.
- 🙂 Embracing Respect and Positivity: We foster a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable expressing their thoughts, learning from each other, and meeting new people.
- 🌱 Building an Authentic and Supportive Community: We seek to cultivate a membership who engage sincerely, share experiences and insights openly, and contribute positively to collective learning and growth.
If you are in a position to do so, please consider donating $2-5 to keep the Meetup running 🙂 datadrinks.ca/donate
