Data Engineers in Toronto October 2025 Monthly Meeting
Topic: Live Demo of Microsoft Fabric Translytical: Write Back to DB from Power BI Report
Abstract:
As a Power BI developer and a data engineer, I have encountered situations where users wanted to enrich a Power BI report on the fly. Be it adding a comment about a metric's unusual performance or updating values (inflation rate, capitalization rate, exchange rate, product description, etc).
Now, all of this is possible without forcing them to use another tool or create change requests and wait for days to see the changes implemented. With Translytical, you can dramatically improve your report users' experience and capture direct updates to DB records. The catch is that it can be like a naked flame, so your DB architecture best practices knowledge must be great.
In this webinar, we will do a live demo of Translytical. In fact, you can have a look at what we will be building and even download the development files at https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Translytical-Task-Flow-Gallery/Add-Commentary-to-Financial-Reports-using-Translytical/td-p/4806042 (and please thumbs it up 👍, thank you!)
