Join us for this opportunity to learn about IBM’s Watson platform and how it can be used for data analysis related to social good. Ed Kang will lead us through a case study and Oscar Cruz will give us a demo of the Watson solution suite.

Using IBM’s Watson for Cognitive Business and Machine Learning

IBM Watson is a technology platform that uses natural language processing and machine learning to reveal insights from large amounts of unstructured data. For the past year, we have been experimenting with Watson API’s to help us develop applications for various business models.

Recently, we were approached by the Food and Water Wellness Foundation to help build a regenerative agriculture portal. Machine learning was to be used to help farmers answer their most pressing questions, quickly extract key information from a vast knowledge base, and reveal insights, patterns and relationships across data. They also wanted a matching service that paired farmers with business partners and mentorship based upon psychological analysis. Watson can provide all of the above.

Since 2009, we have also been developing a cloud-based platform that can measure and analyze employee engagement and corporate culture called MDNA Cloud. Ed founded the MDNA Institute which is a non-profit social business and leadership training think-tank for human purpose, passion and potential. MDNA is supported by a network of thought leaders and entrepreneurs from a wide range of industries from management consulting to leadership development, human resources, entertainment, brand strategy, and non-profit. In addition to the agriculture portal, Watson is now being integrated into MDNA Cloud to provide additional insights and strategies.

We are honored to present our experience and learnings to this point in support of Data for Good.
