The time is booked for our first Data for Good (Regina) Meetup!

What is Data for Good?

We are a group of people who help charities and non-profits understand their data better.

Why should you attend this meetup? You fit into one of the following categories:

  • You work with data in any capacity. You have skills that you want to use to contribute back to the community
  • You are part of a non-profit/charitable organization and are curious how to make sense of your own data
  • You aren’t knowledgeable about how to use data, but have an interest in learning more and how you can use data to strengthen your community
  • You just want to see what Data for Good is all about
  • You're passionate about social causes and making a difference in our local community

Here is what is going to happen:

Show up anytime starting at 6:00pm onwards at the ISM Centre of Excellence. Speakers start at 6:30pm.

We will have two presenters:

Geoff Zakaib, Data for Good Calgary - Geoff will walk us through the latest Data for Good project in Calgary. This will specifically speak about an organization that they worked with and will look into how they collected the organization's data, the 48-hour Data-Thon that happened with that organization's data, and the results that the organization received.

ISM Canada - ISM will speak about the socially driven work they have been able to do with data sets they have accessed through various municipalities and provincial organizations. They will talk about how they have helped provide clarity and insights about social issues in our own province through data analysis, visualization, and interpretation.

If you have any interest in data and how it can impact social issues and causes, sign up to the Meetup.
