Canadian charities provide essential services to vulnerable Canadians across the country, collectively spending over $30 billion per year on charitable activities. But this support is not spread evenly, leading to gaps & opportunities in the charitable investment landscape.
Earlier this year, Data for Good Waterloo Region partnered with the Definity Insurance Foundation to perform a data-driven analysis of the national charitable landscape in Canada, with the goal of identifying areas of Canada where there appears to be philanthropic under-investment, and overlaying BIPOC population distribution and climate, health & socio-economic outcomes of interest to the Foundation to support their philanthropic giving efforts.
Join the Definity Insurance Foundation and three of our local chapter members (Jeffrey Baer, Abhishek Goyal, and Shannon Torcato) as we unpack this analysis and its insights & recommendations, and discuss some of our data science learnings in the process.
Presentation from 7-8, with networking to follow. Light refreshments will be served.
Please RSVP to this meetup to secure your place in this event given capacity restrictions.
