Enable Data Transparency to Drive Action

I'm really excited to have the opportunity to present at the Data Governance Meetup group and share some of the work we have been doing at Z Energy.

At the Meetup, I’ll be sharing the recent work our team has done to roll out a data catalog across Z, why we needed it, the challenges we faced, what has worked well, and how it is helping people find and connect with the data they need more easily.
I'm a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP-Practitioner) with a background in the energy industry, and I currently work as the Data Enablement and Governance Manager at Z Energy. I have been with Z for four years, helping teams get more value from their data and putting strong, practical governance in place. Before that, I spent 10 years at Contact Energy, where I started out as an Energy Trader and later moved into roles across risk and customer analytics. I also spent four years at Transpower, which helped kick off my journey into the world of energy.

I'm passionate about making data easily discoverable, accessible, useful, and well-managed, so people can trust it and use it with confidence.

At the end of the day, it’s not the volume of data we collect that matters, it’s about how effectively we manage it to unlock meaningful value.
