More information on the talks:
Jeroen Linssen – Lessons learned from data science in industry
The concepts of data, AI and machine learning promise insights for (industrial) companies. However, what to do with data, and how to get data is not always clear to everybody. In this talk, I will explain how we, at the research group Ambient Intelligence, use CRISP-DM (a standardized methodology for data mining) and go over our experiences with gathering and analysing data in various projects with small and medium-sized enterprises.

Tatiana Goering – Data in sports and what we can do with it
In many professional sports much data is collected (GPS, Hart Rate, movement, etc.). Can these data be used to help a trainer with a planning of a training? Or can we say something about physical shape of an athletes, or even predict an injury? In the project “Load monitor for professional athletes” we look deeper into it.

Heinze Havinga – Finding an airplane in a haystack
Together with data journalists from the KRO, I looked at 2.2 million flights that took place above the Netherlands to see if we could find planes and flights connected to interesting stories, hidden agendas or foreign parties. We'll discuss cover data gathering and analysis, running an open boot camp on a news floor, and methods of visualization.
