1st Data Mesh Belgium Meetup - LIVE event 🎉

We're very happy to see so much enthusiasm for the Data Mesh Belgium meetup. A lot has been happening this past few weeks and we can't wait to share our very first Data Mesh Meetup event.

For the first event we're partnering together with Wannes Rosiers and Mathias Lavaert, and we will be focusing on 2 talks that will demistify Data Mesh for you. Please don't hesitate to share your ideas or suggestions with us.

SPEAKERS & TALKS

1. "Demystifying Data Mesh - Tackling common misconceptions about Data Mesh" by Wannes Rosiers
Wannes holds a PhD in math and has a background as professional volleyball player. These elements combined allowed him to grow a professional career in managing data teams and thinking on how to optimally organize them to reach their goals. That’s how he ended up in managing the data teams of the largest Benelux media company and guiding them towards a data mesh set-up. He is also a valued active member of the data mesh community.

Recently Wannes has joined a product start-up Raito, where as head of product he is responsible to set the vision on how to simplify consistent data access management across the entire Modern Data Stack.

2. "Technical Foundations for a Data Mesh" by Mathias Lavaert
I’m Mathias Lavaert. I have a decade of experience working on several data-intensive projects in various roles. Ranging from engineer to enterprise data architect. Currently I help DPG Media to transition to a data mesh architecture as a Principal Data Engineer. I live on the outskirts of Brussels with my wife. Together we’re building a small farm specialized in breeding Herdwick sheep.
