Data Integration Panel Discussion

Details

Data integration has been the Holy Grail of application development since the second application was developed. The Data Warehouse has become a common platform for data integration since it is not burdened by the contention and complexity of OLTP, though data integration is fundamental to ERP migration and other non-analytic initiatives.

Though most familiar architectures call out the need for a data integration step, they do not actually describe how it's done. The incorporation of non-relational data such as text, graphic, audio and video has added to the challenge.

In this 90 minute panel discussion moderated by Jay Allen, Bob Conway, Petrica Leuca and Lars Ronnback will define data integration, how and why data become dis-integrated, the role of data modeling in data integration, tools and technologies that aid integration, and a detailed architecture that supports data integration.
