Challenges of Referential Integrity on Analytic Databases

Details

Declarative referential integrity (DRI) is typically associated with transaction processing systems. However, enforcing RI in analytic systems is challenge because they are disconnected from the sources-of-record. Many massively parallel processing (MPP) analytic databases such as Teradata and Snowflake discourage DRI or may not even support the feature. Join our panelists, Bob Conway, Organizer, Jay Allen Moderator, Paul Johnson with VLDB Solutions (UK), and Ron Dunn with Snowflake (Australia) on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 9a-1030a MDT when they will discuss the business importance of RI and the pros and cons of various approaches for addressing RI in analytic databases.
