We’re happy to welcome Timo Dechau who will show us how to work with event stream data using the Activity Schema.

Abstract:

In classic product analytics use cases, the user's interactions are at the core of every analysis.

What kind of features are used frequently before a subscription happened? How many users are invited during the first 20 days and accept the invitation?

Additional challenge in this scenario: good product and growth teams run at high-speed and by experiments. They need insights fast to move forward.

Activity schema is an event-first data model approach, that uses single tables based on business entities and stores all related activities as an immutable log.

Speaker:

Spending his first 8 digital years in product taught Timo the importance of having reliable data to move faster and make better decisions. So he spent the last 8 years creating, maintaining, refactoring, and simplifying data stacks for all kinds of companies from start-ups to DAX-listed companies, always figuring out the best path for time to value and having reliable data at the same time.
