Normal people don't run Kubernetes: Lessons from operating cloud data warehouses on Kubernetes.

Altinity.Cloud is a popular cloud service for ClickHouse data warehouses that is built on Kubernetes. Over two years of operations we have absorbed a number of practical lessons about running complex databases on Kubernetes. We'll share them in this talk, as well talk about some of the opportunities that Kubernetes has opened up to our customers.

Presenters:
- Alexander Zaitsev is CTO of Altinity and designer of Altinity.Cloud. Alexander has two decades of experience in database applications including large analytic databases and came to Kubernetes starting in 2019.
- Robert Hodges is CEO of Altinity. He has worked with over 20 different database types going back almost 40 years. His technical interests include distributed systems and cloud operation. He started working with Kubernetes in 2018.

Journey to become an O'reilly Author

In this talk, I'd like to share my authoring experience and knowledge about an open-source database product MySQL. I also want to touch on this journey's technical and non-technical aspects giving vision and inspiration to future authors.

At the end of the talk, I will give away one printed copy of the MySQL Cookbook 4e to an audience after a trivia question.
