How to Save Parvo Puppies with Data Science

To kick things off, Chloe Kwon and Kevin Horecka will be telling you briefly, but enthusiastically, about Data in the News! What models, discoveries, and tools were in the news during the month of August and September? Come to the event and find out!

In this Data on Tap event, Dr. Kevin Horecka will be discussing the Data Science involved in advancing the state of the art in treating puppies with the Canine Parvovirus. Kevin is the Lead Data Scientists for the Walmart NexTech Austin office and a long-time volunteer at Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) performing medical treatments, data science, and research for puppies with the deadly Canine Parvovirus. He will discuss health economics, risk modeling, and classification of outcomes for animals with Parvo from APA!.

We welcome inputs from interested Data Science enthusiasts and professionals on these ideas, techniques, and their implementation as well as any other questions or comments. Our goal is to make this event fun and informative!
