As a pre-historic pre-cloud DBA you have probably used and preferred to develop any application data component inside SQL Server – OLTP data sets, in-memory cache, graph, and messaging service. 10 years ago monolith data architecture used to be common as well as fault and disaster tolerant. Is it still correct to continue developing and supporting such monoliths these days?
