Solutions engineer Norbert Krupa of Talend will present "Big Data Lambda Architecture", covering theory as well as use cases dealing with real-time product recommendation and sensor data. Lambda architecture is a method for handling massive quantities of data using both batch and stream processing.
Martin Witteveen-Lane of MSU will present "Sequence Pattern Mining in Medical Data: Finding Medication Switches". Martin just completed a master's degree in business analytics. He works as a business analyst at MSU. Martin will talk about his experience in his capstone project where he created a workable dataset from large raw data tables, and how he arrived at the insights which answered the project's research questions.
A light dinner will be served at 6 PM before the first presentation!
The meeting will take place at The B.O.B’s Brewery in the lower level.
The last 10 minutes of the meeting are reserved to solicit your suggestions for topics, presenters, and venues for future meetings!
