Details

Hi All,

We are keen to invite you for another informative and coding Saturday morning. On the day, we will use Machine Learning in the cloud to build predictive models. Some experience in Machine Learning and AWS is recommended.

Agenda:
9:30 – 10:00 Coffee and networking
10:00 – 11:00 Predicting Hotel Cancellations with Machine Learning: TensorFlow 2.0 and Amazon SageMaker By Michael Grogan
11:00 – 12:30 Continue working with SageMaker

Predicting Hotel Cancellations with Machine Learning: TensorFlow 2.0 and Amazon SageMaker
Summary: This session explores how machine learning techniques can be used to predict hotel cancellations. Amazon SageMaker is used as the cloud platform for implementing machine learning models, and participants will also get an overview of how to use TensorFlow 2.0 to analyse time series data. Firstly, data manipulation techniques with pandas are employed to effectively process over 20,000 customer entries. Then, feature selection tools such as the Extra Trees Classifier are used to pinpoint the main drivers of hotel cancellations. The use of logistic regressions, support vector machines, SARIMA, LSTM, and Prophet are employed for prediction purposes, and the relative advantages and disadvantages of each model are discussed.
