Presentation #1 (Swathi Young)
From Signals to Sustainability: Scaling Impact with AI
Abstract
In this session, we’ll explore how SustainChain is transforming the path to global sustainability by leveraging AI to decode signals, drive collaboration, and scale real-world impact. Learn how AI-powered recommendations, UN SDG mapping, and mission control-style visualizations are accelerating connections between innovators, researchers, and impact investors. We’ll walk through the data architecture, key design decisions, and how generative AI is enabling strategic sustainability actions—from local projects to global partnerships.
Speaker Bio
Swathi Young is a globally recognized AI strategist, international keynote speaker, and award-winning Chief Technology Officer at Allwyn Corporation, where she spearheads cutting-edge technology and AI/ML solutions across federal agencies and Fortune 100 companies. With a portfolio of over 100 digital transformations spanning the U.S., India, and Europe—including GE, Oracle, and Amtrak—Swathi brings a rare blend of deep technical expertise and visionary leadership to the forefront of AI innovation. She currently serves as CTO Advisor to SustainChain, a United Nations–backed sustainability startup, where she is pioneering the use of generative AI and reinforcement learning to accelerate progress on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Her thought leadership has been featured in Forbes, TEDx, SXSW, and international conferences. Beyond the stage and boardroom, Swathi is a proud brand ambassador for Women in AI, advocating globally for diversity and ethical inclusion in AI.
Presentation #2 (Majid alDosari)
BIM2RDF: A Tool for Converting Building Information Models to RDF Semantic Graphs
Abstract
This software tool systematically creates semantic graphs that comply with the existing or in-development building ontologies (including but not limited to ASHRAE Standard 223) from source Building Information Models (BIM) that are exported from existing practice authoring tools, including but not limited to Autodesk Revit and Speckle.
Speaker Bio
Majid started out professionally in Mechanical Engineering but has since transitioned to data science. His first role in data science was with Anaconda where he worked on the conda package manager, followed by a role analyzing operational building energy at Enertiv. His next role was at Kinetica to integrate machine learning with its GPU database. In his current role, he combines experience in the energy domain with data science. His BS is in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from Vanderbilt University. His MS is from Vanderbilt in Mechanical Engineering as well. He follows that with another MS in Computational Science from George Mason University.
Logistics
This event will be in person in the District of Columbia, two blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro station at 2112 Pennsylvania Ave NW.
This event is cross posted on Luma.
