In the era of Big Data, we are producing hundreds of billions of GB of digital data per day. Through AI, this data bears great opportunities to disrupt every sector with revolutionary technology. In the meantime, big companies make headlines with breaches and immoral or illegal use of private data while the government pushes to keep pace in generating adequate policies and laws.
In the past, laws around data privacy have hampered the evolution of AI applications in sectors, such as health care sector and the financial sector. However, in the recent years emerging technologies like distributed learning are enabling the secure use of private data to build and use AI. These technologies are accelerating the quantity and nature of novel AI applications and therewith transforming the AI landscape.
