Exploring Inequality with Survey Data

In this hands-on tutorial we will learn to study wealth and income inequality using the Survey of Consumer Finances, the primary research data for topics related to American's earnings, savings and investment.

This will be a technical tutorial and will presume some familiarity with Python and Jupyter, although you can also follow along with Google Colab, and many of the techniques will translate easily to R. In this meeting we will look at descriptive statistics and regressions for wealth, income and home value, how these values evolve over American's lives, and how they differ by race and class.
