Global Power Hackathon

Data Science Initiative is organizing a unique Hackathon focused on assessing the Global Power of countries around the world in partnership with Pareto Economics.

Recent geopolitical events have shaped and influenced our way of living in a myriad of ways. From gas and food price hikes, to cross-border migration, to economical sanctions and changing dynamics in national elections to name a few.

There has never been a more important time to put your Data Science and Analytics skills to the test and collaborate by mapping out how various nations are doing in relation to a multi-dimensional Global Power Index led by Pareto Economics. This will help you to understand and generate incredible insights into how well-prepared various nations are in terms of their military, economic, technological, and sociological development and create powerful visualizations and insights to share with others during the hack.

As part of this hackathon you'll get the chance to:

• Apply your skills to generate new insights and visualizations from existing relational data
• Come up with your own analysis on a country by country or region by region basis
• Develop your own evaluation features for countries to assess and rank them as per their relative Global Power by combining given datasets with other publicly available datasets.
• Share and learn with your fellow Data Scientists
• Win prizes and enjoy free food at the lovely spaces of Microsoft Reactor
