Data driven development for assisted and automated driving

Details

We are really happy to have Johannes Bach from Porsche AG as a speaker in this meetup. Here is what he will tell us about those robots driving our cars in the future:

An overview of assisted and automated driving functions outlines the variety of future customer values. Five levels of automation determine the extent of the functional domain and therewith the effort for development and qualification. The automotive development process is challenged by the necessary increase of perception, distributed system architectures and algorithmic complexity. Data Driven Development strongly supports the development in all phases. A user journey through the design process of an assisted driving function outlines the value of data driven development. Several fields of research from our PhD Campus, ranging from explorative analytics, data enrichment and AI training conclude the presentation.

About the speaker:
Dr. Johannes Bach graduated from KIT with a diploma in electrical and information technology. During his PhD he addressed methods for the development and test of predictive assistance systems. He now implements data driven development for the Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG in the field of assisted and automated driving.
