#0 Meet-up: Machine Learning in Biosignal processing.

This is our first meet-up and is going to be about processing various biosignals. This is “must-go” for everybody interested in state-of-the art approach to signal analysis. We are having three great speakers, Rafał Samborski, Jakub Gałka oraz Rafał Cycoń. Each of them will be giving a 20-30 min speech followed by Q&A session. After the presentations there will be time for networking. All presentations will be held in English. Food and beverages provided!

Rafał Samborski's Bio:
Rafał is the co-founder and CEO of Consonance, a company implementing R&D strategies for biomedical industry companies. He manages interdisciplinary research and development teams both in the private sector (Consonance, VoicePIN.com), as well as at universities (AGH University of Science and Technology). Involved in the development of products such as ZuzaMED, Diabdis, VoicePIN. Combines academic curiosity with an impatient market approach. While working on his PhD in electronics, he co-authored several scientific publications as well as a European patent related to biometrics.

Rafał's presentation: "Sensitivity and specificity are key measures of the performance of classification test. A case study of biomedical algorithms developed by Consonance."

Jakub Gałka's Bio:
Jakub Gałka - TOP500 Innovators alumni (Stanford University), Research & Development Director (VoicePIN.com), Digital Signal Processing researcher (AGH University), Voice Biometrics Professional. His interests include: speech processing, data analysis and machine
learning, biometrics, multimedia processing. He worked on many research and development projects which are now on the market. He enforces various entrepreneurial and innovation activities in Kraków startup scene and in academic and students' communities. His pitch won the first prize during Tech Crunch Meetup in Kraków and together with VoicePIN.com he made it to the Top10 Startup Alley at Tech Crunch Disrupt in San Francisco in September 2015.

"Machine Learning in Voice Biometrics"

Rafał Cycoń's Bio:
Co-founder and CTO of a Data Science consultancy company FORNAX, a Machine Learning and Data Science expert. After winning two Kaggle competitions based on processing EEG data he is the highest ranked Polish Data Scientist and Top50 in the world. Successfully completed a variety of Data Science projects in R&D, engineering and business sectors. Rafał's presentation:
"Building predictive models on EEG data - approaches used in winning solutions in two Kaggle competitions."
