Using Cloud Foundry for Data Science - Ian Huston

As a data scientist I frequently need to create web apps to provide interactive functionality, deliver data APIs or simply publish results. It is now easier than ever to deploy your data driven web app by using cloud based application platforms to do the heavy lifting. Cloud Foundry ( ) is an open source public and private cloud platform that enables simple app deployment, scaling and connectivity to data services like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and Cassandra.

Marc is responsible for identifying, facilitating, and evangelising new product and service development – including R&D, software development, and system development. He was a key member of the senior leadership team responsible for developing and managing the company’s cloud computing product strategy and roadmap, architecture and engineering, business analysis and requirements, along with software product development.

Ian is a data scientist at Pivotal, helping businesses solve business problems using machine learning and predictive analytics.Before becoming a data scientist Ian worked as a postdoc using high performance computing to study the early universe.
