Over the past decade, Facebook has been steadily increasing its involvement in the democratic process. This talk will go over the data science used by Facebook to insert itself into democracy, over the data science of external players' use of Facebook to influence elections, both overtly and covertly, and the data of how all this has shaped not just elections and democracy the world over, but also public discourse at large.
