Veeva Link - Data Science Team: During the talk, Jonathan Eschbach will describe our journey to performing Named Entity Recognition (NER) in Clinical Trial documents. We perform NER in raw texts explaining clinical trial protocols. We focus on patient critera to create structured inclusion/exclusion critera and hence being able to compare different protocols and improve the planning for future clinical trials.

Deepset - Julian Risch: In this talk, Julian Risch will walk you through the steps of creating a question answering (QA) demo around public health data using the open source NLP framework Haystack. Its key building blocks support a variety of QA pipelines, and he’ll explain how they can be flexibly combined to enable different use cases. An outlook on next steps concludes the presentation.
