Topic: Data Analysis with Apache Spark on Azure Synapse Analytics

The Data Analysis with Apache Spark on Azure Synapse Analytics presentation by Adriano da Silva is designed for those with little or no knowledge of the technologies being used but interested in Fast Tracking their knowledge on the subject.

The session covers the use of Serverless Spark Pools using Scala, PySpark and Spark SQL to analyze data from distinct data sources. These technologies can used in the shaping and molding of volumes of data to make it ready for analysis where valuable insights can be derived for user insights and/or consumed by other Azure services or applications.

By the end of this presentation, attendees will have an understanding of key concepts and technologies being covered along with hands-on demonstrations to illustrate scenarios where and how it can be applied.

  • Biography:
    Adriano da Silva is a Principal Consultant at Bright International Corporation, a consulting and advisory company focused in addressing complex business problems with innovative and scalable products and solutions that leverage Artificial Intelligence and Data.

Mr. da Silva brings decades of professional technical and business experience in different industries; including financial, energy, health care, retail and others. He partners with executives, managers and staff to best advise and implement technical and process driven solutions at companies ranging from Global 100 to startups.

In addition to this, he is engaged in knowledge sharing initiatives by presenting at in-person and online conferences, user groups; as well as, authoring articles. He is also the lead organizer at the South Florida Power BI (SFPBI) and the Microsoft Data and AI South Florida (DataAISF) user groups.
