No specific experience is required. However, we will be using Python and Jupyter notebooks for examples so some familiarity with Python will be helpful.

## Event
This session will introduce GraphQL, with a focus on the use of GraphQL in data science. We will start with an overview of GraphQL, including the advantages/disadvantages of using GraphQL. Next, we will explore common patterns for building GraphQL APIs. Finally, we will see how GraphQL can be integrated into common data science workflows using Python and Jupyter notebooks.
## Speaker
William Lyon is a Developer Relations Engineer at Neo4j, the open-source graph database where he helps developers and data scientists be successful with graphs. He is the author of the book "Full Stack GraphQL" published by Manning and holds a masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Montana.
