Title: Automating Data Visualizations using LLMs
Synopsis: Large Language Models (LLMs) automate data visualization more than ever. This talk explores how LLMs convert natural language prompts directly into code for popular JavaScript and Python libraries, helping both domain experts and developers visualize data quickly.
We'll also explore purpose-built tools like Microsoft's LIDA, Chat2VIS, etc, covering their strengths and practical integration into JavaScript and Python workflows. Attendees will learn tips for using LLMs in finding the right visualizations and building them quickly, how to avoid common pitfalls, and ensure accuracy — through hands-on demos and code examples.
This is the 2nd in a series of talks held in tandem with MTD's human-centered design for information visualization module.
Format: Event is conducted in person together with 30+ masters and phd students from the MTD module. Seats for the classroom space are really limited, so if you are registered to attend but cannot make it, please do release the slot. Great opportunity to network or meet people if you're interested in the data visualization space. Thanks!
