After a long, long Data Vis Meetup break, let's enjoy a nice summer night together! This time, we will talk about our data vis projects which are not quite there yet and could need some help: Projects in Progress.

We all sometimes struggle with projects, and this is the perfect time to get help from friendly people who are as excited about data vis as you are! Do you have a project you're currently working on which you want to show us, to get some feedback? Let me know: lisacharlotterost@gmail.com, or just come and present your work in five minutes!

And of course we need some people who give feedback, so even if you don't want to show something: Show up, have drinks, meet people and look at some (not yet but maybe soon) awesome charts!

I (@lisacrost (https://twitter.com/lisacrost)) will give a short introduction into goals in data vis (http://dataremixed.com/2016/01/optimize-or-satisfice-in-dataviz/), how to structure criticism about data vis (https://www.cs.ubc.ca/labs/imager/tr/2013/MultiLevelTaskTypology/brehmer_infovis13.pdf) (attention, PDF) and about different workflows for data visualization.

Sebastian Meier (http://www.sebastianmeier.eu/) (@seb_meier (https://twitter.com/seb_meier)) is a visualization researcher at the Interaction Design Lab at the University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam. In his talk he will present a side project on visualizing air pollution in London that evolved over the last year and he will use the project to illustrate: how to get lost in a visualization project.

Philipp Bock (@bockph (https://twitter.com/bockph)) will talk about his interactive version of a chart (http://lisacharlotterost.github.io/2016/06/23/flatland/) that only compares the latitudes of cities, not their longitudes.
