What we’re about
From infographics to data art, from dashboard to data storytelling. We want to be a place to discuss and learn about all things data visualization, information design, data art, business analytics, and much more.
We want to be a place for everyone interested in data visualization, whether you're a professional, a student, or just curious about the field.
We will host semi-regular events with talks by people from all the different fields of data viz and short hands-on workshops. From design to code we'll address different aspects of data viz in our events. If you've got ideas or would like to give a talk - feel free to get in touch!
We're looking forward to meeting you all!
We kindly ask you to comply with our Code of Conduct online as well as at our events.
Upcoming events (1)
See all- Emotions in Data VizFactorial GmbH, Hamburg
This time we're getting emotional: Join us at Factorial (Langenfelder Straße 93, Hamburg) on September 18th for an evening about emotions in data visualization – with Nina Krug being our speaker and host of a creative workshop inspired by her talk.
Nina Krug is an information designer at SPIEGEL and is going to talk about Creativity in No-Nonsense Spaces. Infographics and data visualizations in a news context are expected to be objective, easy to understand, and communicate content clearly. Practical examples from everyday work demonstrate how creative visualization approaches can enrich visual storytelling even in more serious environments.
Afterwards Nina and the dataviz meetup team is going to host a mini-workshop about harnessing your own creativity. Please bring some pencils, if you like!
Of course, there will be plenty of time to network and chat with other guests. And thanks to Factorial we'll have food and drinks to go with the conversation!

The event is in-person only, in English language and free of charge. The main program will finish around 8 pm, but feel free to stick around and chat. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Please sign up for the event, so we can estimate how many people are joining.
